In order to reproduce materials from Darwin Online in another publication or broadcast, written (email) permission must be sought from the Director, Dr John van Wyhe. For image reproductions, please follow the instructions below and direct all enquiries to Dr Kees Rookmaaker lcr26@cam.ac.uk.
Most of the images on Darwin Online are also available in high-resolution versions (without copyright marks) suitable for publication or broadcast. To acquire permission and/or copies of images please follow these steps:
1. There is a one time administration fee of 80GPB per image payable to The University of Cambridge. (Bulk reproductions are negotiable.) If you are non-profit, educational a much lower rate will apply.
2. The source of the image(s) must be acknowledged in the publication/broadcast as 'Reproduced with permission from John van Wyhe ed., The Complete Work of Charles Darwin Online (http://darwin-online.org.uk/)'
3. Please download the invoice request form and fill in the bold fields and email to Dr Kees Rookmaaker lcr26@cam.ac.uk Incomplete forms will be returned.
Note: Darwin Online cannot give permission to reproduce the manuscripts, that is, hand-written documents, on the site. Such requests must be sent to the owner of the manuscript. In most instances this will be Adam Perkins, Curator of Scientific Manuscripts in the University Library (ajp21@cam.ac.uk or mss@lib.cam.ac.uk). Certain other images, for which Darwin Online has received reproduction permission, may not be reproduced without the permission of the original copyright holder.
